Katherine Club Inc

Our meals were lukewarm, which included the chips....the salads/veggies that are 'help yourself' were acceptable..... Barra at $30, Threadfin $18.

It's a club - you get pretty much what you expect. There are always a couple of specials that are good value, the other meals are a little bit dearer (expected in this location). The bain marie and salad bar has a reasonable selection. The meals aren't overly large.

I recently went to dinner with family and work collegues to the Katherine Club. I wasn't in charge of where we were going that night. I have been before and with not a lot of choice in good places to eat out and get good quality food in Katherine, I was again disappointed with the food presented as were a number of others at our table. I had grilled baramumdi with chips and access to the salad bar. The barramundi pieces were very small, dry, muddy tasting, the dipping sauce on the side was just a bowel of olive oils with "something" lying at the bottom, the chips were over cooked and dry, and the salad bar was lifeless and un appealing. Others at our table had the beef schnitzel. Both friends complained that the beef was not a piece of crumbed beef as expected, but a stewed mixture of a tasteless mince in a very thick batter put on we thought to try and hide the chef's 3rd world cooking standard. There is not anywhere in Katherine that serves a nice meal other than a 4/10 pub food level. The owners however, think they are serving something special, as the prices were high, and when we complained about the food, the waitress was not keen or able to resolve our complaints. Very poor Katherine Club!!

We came her on the advice of hotel staff where we were staying. I ate the salt and pepper calamari which was quite good. Not fantastic but still eatable and satisfied my hunger. My friend had the beef schnitzel or what I liked to call the crumbed steak. While the meat was taste the ratio of meat to crumb was out of whack. The chef needed to flatten the steak then crumb. The salad bar was really fresh and tasty with a good selection of roast potatoes, cooked peas and various fresh crunchy salads. The staff were so lovely and helpful and the drinks were so cheap $11 for two bottles of strongbow. Wow!

We traveled here for an evening meal, the place was nice and clean and the service was outstanding. We had roast beef with chips and salad. Wow
