The Escarpment Restaurant - KATHERINE

The buffet here has lots of great choices, Indian, veggies, salads, desserts. A little pricey but heaps to choose from.

3 course dinner of very high standard re presentation and flavour. Interesting combinations of chicken and lobster Thermidor Unfortunately temperature in restaurant was too warm and we were seated for a long time before order taken and then only after requesting assistance. Drink service was very slow. Staff shortage was reason for the previous problems. $80 for set menu should ensure sufficent staff. Will give it one more go to support chef.

You can request how you would like your eggs dine like poach, sunny side up or even omelette. It was great value for money. My daughter wanted chips and gravy and at breakfast time they were able to provide this. Service was prompt and polite. We will definitely come back next time we visit Katherine.

The restaurant itself has an "ok" atmosphere, the locals believe that the escapement is the fanciest place to be, but I didn't fancy the food at all. I had a crab dish and it was unappealing in my eyes, and the taste was even worse. I think I should have saved the $100 I spent between two people and gone to Maccas for dinner.

A group of friends and I went to this restaurant last night and had a fantastic time.We are locals to the Katherine Area and have been before, we can't fault this place. Great Staff, awesome food and a great atmosphere. We have never had a bad meal or bad service from this restaurant and the prices are very reasonable with large portion sizes. We will definitely keep going back
