I 've been on Insta for a while now. You didn 't know? Yes, I 'm on Instagram @onlyifitsgood_ don 't forget the underscore!! Anyway, I 'd noticed these really cool pics of some undoubtedly great food. The pics were colourful, the food looked heavenly and the description of the food had my interest piqued. <br/ <br/ I 'd been to 'Nepalese ' restaurants before and they were really a cover for an Indian restaurant, no Nepalese food to be seen or tasted. This time I jumped onto their website and was pleasantly surprised. Actual Nepalese food!! I just kept watching them, everytime a pic was posted I 'd like it, making the decision we were going to go for a meal.....one day. That day arrived. Before a Fringe show we wanted to grab a meal. I perused my Entertainment Book app, low and behold, there they were, on The Parade! Fan-food-tastic, we were heading that way. It was obvious that the 'food gods ' (FYI, no they don 't really exist) were pushing me their way.<br/ To read the rest of my review, click on the link below.
Amazing place with some of the best food and service I've ever had!.. . I chose this place as something different. Me and my best mate really enjoyed the atmosphere and how everything was explained well. The Nepal beers are great too!
This place, for me and my foodie partner never, ever disappoints.<br/ <br/ Our staples are the shamosa, clay oven lamb, butter chicken, garlic or cheese roti and lentil side. And yes, we have all that food in one sitting because in here, we just can't help ourselves. <br/ <br/ We often walk in with the intention of trying what other things the menu offers but we always seem to revert back to our staples because they are just too damn delicious. <br/ <br/ It's often fairly busy, has a lovely ambience, really friendly staff, the food and drinks are to die for.<br/ <br/ We've actually said multiple times that we need the chefs to come and move in with us. That there must be some way to take them in and call them family. <br/ <br/ Seriously though, the people who live close enough that can have food from here delivered or to take away, ugh I really do envy you. <br/ <br/ Definitely one of our all time favourites. You will walk out 10 kilos heavier but man it's so worth it.
TOP is away from the busy part of The Parade so its easy to get a car park. Its a lovely old building, attractively decorated. I was surprised that it wasn't full on a Saturday night. Nepalese food isn't as hot/spicy as Indian but its still delicious. The service was very attentive. We started with the Aaloo Bara, Phulaura Samoshas which were all generous entree servings. For main course we had chicken curry, lamb pumpkin daal with steamed rice plus plain garlic roti. The food was fabulous its hard to choose a favourite. Due to it being so tasty, we overate couldn't fit in a dessert. Our leftovers were packaged into a doggy bag for us to take home. I wish I lived closer to this place so I could get regular takeaways.TIP: wear elastic waist pants.
