Food was excellent and service was very good. Enjoy it so much that we came twice during our fifth night visit in the area. Baseball steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked. You could rival Ruth? Chris or Morton, but at a reasonable price. Chicken Parm and Cordon Blue were both very good. Parking was tight, and ready to wait for a short table, but they have a small bar in the back and you can have a drink on the terrace while waiting. I'm glad we found this jewel.

Very friendly staff and check-in and in the restaurant in the morning. Clean rooms with additional towels and dog friendly. Only $15 per pet! Dinner is popular although so call on the waiting list when you are placed? and so on. Looks like they have a decent selection of wine and a nice dinner menu. Breakfast was great and they give you a nice large cup of coffee.

What a fun unique restaurant! The server was amazing and patient! The burger was delicious! And the fries are the best I cost, I'm a long time! You can also change it to a Bison Burger for a few more dollars. You salads are super big with great tasting chicken! We're coming back!

Excellent service! Nice atmosphere. The food was very good. Crab cakes were some of the best I had! Elk medals were very tasteful, but not delicate. Short ribs were excellent. I'd recommend dinner.

I?m from Louisiana and my husband is from NYC. We know good food and we?re picky. We didn?t come to the Mount Rushmore area for the food. The Powder House Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It?s the best food I?ve ever head in a ?square state? ?. I had a 12 oz ribeye and twice baked potato and my husband had the wild game platter with Buffalo, elk, and quail. Everything was delicious. The meat was cooked exactly how we ordered. I didn?t feel like the steak needed any sauce. This place doesn?t look ?touristy? but delivers. Make a reservation or check in online or you may wait over an hour for a table. Our children were also well taken care of. The bartender gave our four year old cherries and lemonade and a hostess brought our little one colors and a coloring page when she saw he was unhappy. Highly recommended.
