I recommend this place to anyone who visits maui.
We went to Tiki Terrace for dinner. We did not have any reservations but the host was kind enough to get us seated immediately. The service was fast. I had the crab cakes which tasted pretty good, i liked it. My husband had the prime rib and he didnt enjoy it as much as he thought he would. They had some live music and hula and it was very entertaining. Overall good experience.
Tiki Terrace has got great kitsch which makes it fun, but it may not be for everyone. The food was good, but not great. The drinks were ok, definitely skewing to be very sweet. The espresso I got wasn't really espresso, but rather just very strong coffee. It still tasted good, so I shrugged it off. The Tiki Terrace is like a time capsule from the 70's, from the decor, to the menu, to the execution. Overall I enjoyed it, but it wasn't really what I was hoping for. Once I adjusted my expectations I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would happily go back if I were in the mood for what they offer again.
We had breakfast on Saturday, and it seems obvious they are playing catch up on opening. The service with the hostess was good, but it went downhill from there. The table service was spotty, and our server forgot to order some of our food. The cappuccinos were ok, but the coffee was decent. The bar was not open at 10 am on a Saturday, so no **** Mary's or mimosas to start off the day in paradise. Our meals were delicious, and the kitchen seemed to be humming. Overall, good food, interesting items on the menu, but poor service. Tiki Terrace does have potential, but the front of the house needs work and their should be options for those who like a morning libation while on vacation.
Solid value and warm, friendly service enhanced with live music and a respectable Mai Tai. Bonus points for their healthy Hawaiian options! Suffered from slow service but will handicap it for being a very busy rainy night.
