The menu offers a wide variety of pasta and pizza options. We both chose pasta dishes and they were delicious. The portion sizes were perfect, not too big but not too small either. We will definitely return for more delicious and authentic Italian food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to both locals and tourists visiting Kilkenny.
We spontaneously decided to try this restaurant around 8pm on Sunday evening, February 11th. The staff was very welcoming and polite. The menu has a great selection of starters, antipasti, mains, and desserts. Since we didn't want a big meal, we started with olives. I ordered a veal dish with Italian potatoes and vegetables, while my wife opted for a pasta dish with meat and tomato sauce. The veal, with its deep, rich mushroom sauce, was absolutely delightful. The potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection. The pasta was also excellent. We paired our meal with a reasonably priced bottle of Chianti Classico. The service was attentive and friendly. As we were leaving, we had a nice chat with the owner, who is also the head chef. It's truly impressive how restaurants struggle to survive with the increasing costs of supplies and VAT. Kudos to him and his team. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.
Our experience at this restaurant was really terrible. We had made a reservation for 4 people a few days before arriving in Kilkenny. We were planning to attend a hen party on Saturday night, but myself and three other girls, including the bride, decided to go out on Friday night as well. We had brought some badges and a headband for the bride. When we arrived, the server told the owner that it was a hen party. He came out of the kitchen and said he didn't have our reservation. We explained that it was just the four of us and that we had booked in advance. Despite not having consumed any alcohol and simply wanting to have a meal and get an early night before the hen party the following day, he refused us entry, claiming that he was fully booked even though the restaurant was empty and had confirmed our booking over the phone a few days prior. When I pointed this out, he arrogantly stated that it was his restaurant and he could refuse service to anyone he pleased before walking away. We were turned away solely based on our appearance. In the end, my friend, the bride, had to remove her headband, and we were all incredibly upset that this was the reason we were denied entry. Simply for having a decoration! It would have been understandable if we had been rowdy or drunk, but we were just four girls looking to have a meal. We ended up finding a much nicer Italian restaurant called Italian Connection, where the staff were lovely. I highly recommend reading all the reviews, including the negative ones, and suggest avoiding this restaurant at all costs.
I had a wonderful dinner with delicious appetizers, main courses, and dessert. I was very pleased with the excellent service and the affordable prices.
Very good place where you eat very good pizza and different Italian dishes
