Tupper's - Kilkenny

Had lunch overlooking the garden. Nice sitting area with fresh colours. Good service. Food was freshly prepared and we really both dishes baked ham open sandwich and a Caesar salad

I brought my wife and 2 kids to Sunday lunch at Tuppers bar. I ordered a steak sandwich at €21.50. my wife ordered the roast beef. initially the service wasn 't bad. the food is a different story. my steak came out on a soggy white ciabatta, my chips were refried, the onion rings came directly from a supermarket frozen, the steak was small and streaky. I asked for it medium, but I 'd be surprised if it didn 't have a pulse. my wife 's beef was more fat than lean meat. our bill came to €65. and I 'm now sitting with the dinner cooking at home. I 've only had my dinner at Tuppers an hour ago. just to top it off, we had the owner of this 'wonderful 5 star hotel ' tell off our children for running around the lobby. I don 't make a habit of writing reviews. I hope this gives some insight, as to how both myself my wife and my children are totally disgusted by the whole experience. i will not be darkening the door of Lyrath hotel again.

Went here for Sunday Lunch with high expectations, left disappointed. Staff were polite but not as proactive as you would expect. Although the waiting staff passed by our table regularly nobody made eye contact or asked if we needed anything. we had to call them to gain their attention, we even had to ask for menus in the beginning although seated for 10 minutes at this point. We asked 1 particular waiter for 2 requests and he never returned with either. However, Other waiting staff fulfilled the requests immediately when asked. The food was average at best. Pasta stuck together in clumps while steak sandwich, fish and chips and burger were a little more appealing. Not worth the wait or the high price unfortunately.

Our dining experience on the terrace was enjoyable, despite the somewhat inexperienced service. However, the meal itself more than compensated for any shortcomings in the service.

The cocktails here are nice, but pricier than most places. The live music really added to the atmosphere and was quite enjoyable. However, the restaurant seemed to be a bit understaffed during my visit.
