Governor's Inn - Kincardine

My husband and I went to the Akima house for supper and the service was magnificent. They were very quick at taking our order, serving our drinks and the food came in great time. We eat here quite a lot and the food is always fabulous and very tasty. The atmosphere is great and the service is always quick and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Kincardine. You have a variety of choices on the menus from Chinese, Japanese or Korean food. All types are very good.

The dinner was very pricey, greasy and full of cheap fillers. The breakfast was prepared several weeks ago and nearly cracked my tooth.

We stayed here while in Kincardine for a wedding and we were impressed with the helpfulness of the front desk staff, the clean, well-equipped rooms and the brunch the next day with a well-stocked assortment of breakfast foods

Food was average in terms of taste, nothing spectacular. The food selection at the Mother's Day brunch was very limited and very sparse, despite a couple of large group reservations that arrived after we did. Desserts tasted like they had come out of the freezer. Wait staff did not seem prepared, twice we had to find them ourselves in addition to also having to find items like cream for coffee on our own. When we arrived there were 4 tables that had not been cleared, we left about an hour later and these tables still had not been cleared in addition to at least 2 more.

We wanted a nice dinner in town and decided to try the Governors. We have been here many times for large functions but not for a long time just for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised and will return. The service was prompt and attentive and I always enjoy the intimate bar/lounge better than the dining room. The menu is quite large and varied, reasonably priced. My husband and future daughter in law had an appetizer of tomato and mozzarella stacked. Very interesting presentation and very delicious. Three of us had pasta, all different, all delicious, one chicken dinner. The bread was a tad stale but no big deal. The chef came out to check on us which was a nice touch and we assured him that we were very happy with our meal and would be back.
