The Salty Dog Hotel - Kingborough

We hosted a celebration here for a family member's milestone birthday. The service was exceptional, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff made us feel very welcome and at home.

Great venue and service but the steak was terrible. Had a poor quality rump steak on my first visit and only returned because of a mix up in hotel names by our friend. Remembering my prior experience I avoided the steak and had the Signature Seafood Chowder , which was unlike any other chowder I 've had but was very good. My wife had a medium rare Scotch Filler streak ... and when served the first time it came very rare. On being re-served after more cooking it proved to be tough, stringy and for the price $47) was the worst steak we 've ever experienced. If you visit the Salty Dog, order anything except steak!

This restaurant was terrible. I couldn't find anything appetizing on the menu. The meal was awful - the chips were cold, the fish was overcooked and barely warm, and the coleslaw was tired and flavorless. The steak dinner was just as bad - the meat was like old shoe leather. It was a complete waste of money. I can only give it one star.

Adriano and his team were fantastic. The food and service were top-notch, deserving of 5 stars. I highly recommend this place! The atmosphere was fantastic. We will definitely be returning!

A nice venue located opposite the beach. There is a beer garden with a good menu that includes many gluten free options. The food was tasty. There is a good range of on-tap beverages to choose from. A popular spot: parking could be a problem at bust times.
