The Star Inn - Kirklees

The drinks and food were both amazing, 5-star quality. Amy, our waitress, was very professional and friendly. We will definitely return.

I have visited this restaurant three times in the last two months. The staff are excellent and very friendly. I have never had a bad meal here, I ate everything on my plate. It's a hidden gem that many people overlook. The fries are really good. I highly recommend trying this place.

The meals at this restaurant were very disappointing - cold and overcooked. We took my father here for Father's Day, but he couldn't even cut through the crust on the pie and there was only a small amount of meat inside. The garlic mushrooms were served cold in a dish with a small, dried piece of baguette. My chicken in red wine sauce was microwaved and rubbery, with a watery sauce. Despite the lovely and clean pub atmosphere and friendly staff, the overall experience was dreadful.

My friends and I called in on the off chance it was very quiet we were told a funeral was due I ordered hot pork sandwich and chips and my friend had hot beef sandwich and chips and my other friend had another hot sandwich and chips all of us did not like the chips they were tasteless and hard and my pork was grisly we left nearly all our meal when the man came to take the plates away we mentioned the chips were triple cooked and he had no complaints they werñt triple cooked they were awful he said he would knock something off the bill which he did but I would rather have had a nice meal we wont be going there again

Called on for Sunday dinner, looked at carvery didn’t look like there was anything doing, no meats out no veg. Asked about food told yes we’re doing food, got a couple of drinks and were sat at a table looked at menu, waitress came after a little wait (very pleasant) we decided on the pie for mains waitress said she’d come get us when ready another little wait then came to tell us our food was ready and we could make our way down to carvery area, plates were hot and all food in carvery was fresh just made for us, all in all very nice loads of food we actually made mistake of ordering starters which when you see size of mains you don’t need really, we’ll be certainly coming back as food was lovely. All staff were great as well, reasonably priced for what you got
