Wooden Nickel - Kirksville

At first impression I thought dinner would be pretty good. The building is neat and things were fairly clean. The service was ok and mostly friendly however I just didn’t think the food had much flavor. I’m a BBQ guy that has eaten smoked meats all over the country from some of the best smokehouses there are. This smoked meat doesn’t belong in the same category. Wooden Nickel was a treat! The staff was awesome! Our server was new but did a great job! He was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the stuffed mushroom caps they were delicious! I had the eggplant parmigiana and it was perfect! My favorite place to eat in Kirksville now!

If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault. Great food and do t forget the room in the back.

The waitress was terrible. We were the only 2 in the restaurant and had to ask for refills since she was playing on her phone. The food was awful! The steak had no flavor and was mostly fat and gristle.

This is probably the best place to eat that has been hiding in plain sight the entire time I've lived in the area. I had no idea they had a true menu- and the food is absolutely to die for! I can't get enough of the manicotti and bananas foster! They also have an impressively wide menu. You're sure to find something amazing to eat.
