The tea was delicious and the pot it was served in was so pretty! The ginger ale wasn’t my favorite, but I drank it. We ordered Spring rolls and Crab Rangoon for appetizers. Both freshly made and delicious. Dinners were Hibachi chicken shrimp, Hibachi steak and shrimp, Hibachi steak, and a Teriyaki beef dinner. Salad and clear soup were served first. Delicious! All dinners were absolutely scrumptious. I don’t think anyone had anything left on their plates! Service was excellent. They were quick to clean off the empty plates and refill drinks. Prices of dinners were on the high end. Despite the pricey check, Sanya’s is highly recommended!
I couldn't disagree more with these 1 star reviews and reading some of them made me question going to Sanya Sushi Bistro before we gave it a go. Do yourself a favor and go to this place. Our nigiri pieces were fresh and really good quality. The toro was what I would expect from a fattier tuna belly slice. They had some different, unique rolls that were very good from a typical local family run business. I frequent local sushi places a lot in my home town and this was a step up. The only thing they didn't have that I really like is uni, but it's been a bad year for that quality wise and most places can't consistently get it and have it be good. Will definitely go back when I'm in Kitty Hawk.
We had planned to go elsewhere, but the wait was too long, so we ended up at Sanya. We were seated right away and ordered a mix of Chinese and sushi. Everyone enjoyed their food. We ordered the kids chicken lo mein, sesame chicken, shrimp and broccoli, avocado rolls, spicy crab and a salmon avocado roll. Everything was fresh and well prepared.
Came here on a whim and so glad we did. The sushi was delicious and fresh. The only one I would not recommend is a spider roll that did not taste as fresh as the others. The service was okay nothing bad or good about it. The ambience is a little dark which I personally don't like they don't offer outside dining either. But was a nice place to eat and kids enjoyed the fried rice. They have a nice variety in their menu so something for all.
Ordered shrimp tempura sushi, fried tofu, and the appetizer platter. Upon opening the bag, the whole bag and car smelled like old rotten fish! Sushi also tasted old, it was absolutely disgusting. The appetizer platter was cold and over fried, chicken wings were tiny and had no meat on them. Seriously! It was like hard jerky. Fried tofu was okay at best. Will never return here again!
