Great local place..small cozy kinda rustic barOldest bar in Alaska as I understand with original liquor license in 1912. Ice cold bottle beer. Pool table and Pizza too!Differently worth checking out if in Kodiak
Divey perfection. Strong drinks, solid crowd (with enough seating) and pool to play. The person behind the bar was also really friendly. They also sell merch and a couple food options (heard from others to avoid the food but didn't try it myself). Oldest bar in Alaska and still worth the trek out in the snow.
Oldest bar in Alaska. They do in fact take credit cards. Very much a no-frills bar. Didn 't try the food. Just wanted a quick margarita for my last night in Kodiak. Maybe I was just annoying (long day at work so I was kinda slow to respond), but I could tell the bartender was not in the mood to chat and mess around. As soon as she realized I wasn 't gonna leave the tab open, I was immediately hit with, that 'll be 13.75. All this before I barely took a sip. She was noticeably nicer to the other patrons coming in. I get it. Maybe it was just a long day in the office/bad day. I work as a chef and am very understanding of the struggles in the food industry. Honestly, I would 've handled things differently, but hey it 's a modest bar in a small town in Alaska. What can you expect? Come in, get your drink, move on. I guess it was nice to at least support a small business. Hmm.
8/19/2023: Go visit Blue. Very friendly pit that likes to greet you. No food, drinks only. Best for beer or mixed drinks.
