Al Salam - Köln

Good food, sweet ambience, the service was ok unfortunately this is not exactly communicated with the closing of the kitchen

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and it's just my favorite restaurant. The food, the cocktails, the service, the ambience, it's all right.

The Al Salam is conveniently located on the Hohenstaufenring (near the car park) and makes a welcoming impression. Inside, it's carier when you thought on the basis of the photos. Maybe too bright... I was there with a friend and we sat up in the gallery at the beginning. There it was only calm, later than the approx. 12 ladies came to the Christmas party a little louder, but not unpleasant. But the seat was not cozy or atmospheric. The service was very friendly and competent. The food was good overall. The appetizing appetizers are served and seasoned. The main vegetarian dish with rice has not been so impressed visually and tastefully (fad), but the deer with sweet potato puree has tasted very well. The cocktails and wines are worth their price. A good choice.

More appearance than being... both food and service could not convince at all. The dishes were not inedible but there was something wrong everywhere... tastefully not balanced. You get significantly better oriental dishes in Cologne for much less money.

Perfect service, delicious food. Overall highly recommended.
