The products were much cheaper than grocery stores, and customers had the opportunity to meet the farmers who grew most of them. Additionally, I heard about a fantastic market located at the corner of Poipu Road and Ala Keio Bypasski Road, which reportedly has even better prices.
We visited the farmer's market on a Wednesday at 4 o'clock. When we arrived at 4:30, it was bustling with activity. The tables were set up along the entire inner wall of the shopping village, showcasing freshly picked tropical fruits and vegetables as well as various crafts. We saw vendors selling fresh baked bread, Macadamia nuts in their shells, stuffed croissants, spices, jams, jellies, large slices of fresh cakes, and delicious soups made by a local chef. There were also local salts, sauces, and salsas available. The selection may vary depending on the season.
Although the market was small, it offered a wide variety of options at reasonable prices. The produce was much more affordable compared to the grocery store, and you have the opportunity to meet the farmers who grew most of it. I also heard about a fruit stand located on the corner of Poipu Road and Ala Keioki Bypass Road that supposedly has even better prices, although I haven't had the chance to visit yet.
This farmers market appears on Wednesdays at 4 pm. We arrived at 4.30 pm and found it in full swing. Tables were set up along the inside walkway of the shopping village, showcasing freshly picked tropical fruits and vegetables as well as a variety of artisan products. These included freshly baked bread, macadamia nuts, filled croissants, spices, rubs, jams, jellies, savory and sweet pies, soups from a published chef, local salts, sauces, and salsa. The vendors may vary depending on the season, but this is what we experienced in January.
Even though the market was small, it had a wide variety of options at affordable prices. The products were significantly cheaper than those at the grocery store, and you also had the opportunity to meet the farmers who grew them. I also heard about a fruit stand at the corner of Poipu Road and Ala Keioki Bypass Road that has even better prices, but I have yet to check it out.
