Riptides Shave Ice Snacks - KOLOA

I didn’t catch her name (which is embarrassing since she remembered mine when we returned the next day), but the woman who works at this store, alongside the incredibly friendly owner Mindy, made the trip worthwhile on her own. She was so funny and welcoming! The shaved ice is the best on the island. I highly recommend opting for the ice base with mochi toppings, paired with their amazing pineapple and creamy coconut syrups. Our experience in Princeville was so fantastic that we went back two days in a row! Don’t miss out—make sure to visit Riptide!

The waitress was very nice and attentive. I left a $9 tip for a beautiful sunset view, which was quite enjoyable. I had a lot of food, but I think it could use some more ice to better balance the strong flavors.

This spot has the best location with stunning views of the sea! Among all the shave ice shops in Hawaii, I believe this one is the closest to the beach, even though Lawai Beach is quite small. The breathtaking scenery makes the wait worthwhile! I tried the Rainbow Shave Ice ($5) with pineapple and vanilla strawberry syrup, and it was delicious. It's a fantastic place to snorkel, surf, and unwind.

We tried 3 different shaved ice places and this DEFINITELY #1 for us! So much that we came back three times! It was one of the last things we did before we went to the airport. The best price and the best shaved ice cream. The child size is huge and can be easily divided. We shared an adult size one day, a child size one day, and everyone got their own child size one day. It took a lot of work to finish this alone. Never tried the organic flavors, but loved orange dream (creamsics) -SO GOOD, peach, root beer, red raspberry and cherry. We always have ice on the ground, it was amazing! Take it over the street and watch the sunset right next to Lawai beach, it is perfect!

You have to try the real fruit homemade versions of the shave ice at this stand. You could blend two flavors and the first time we tried lilikoi and pineapple and the second time (yes we went back!! we had lilikoi and strawberry. We had both versions with ice cream and they were reasonably priced and easily the best shave ice we tried on the island. Loved snorkeling across the street too!
