In the evening, finding authentic local food in Kuah can be challenging, but this restaurant did not disappoint. The menu mainly features Nani Lemac, which is coconut rice served with protein, nuts, and dried anchovies. There are also side dishes available, such as additional protein, vegetables, and poppadums. While alcohol is not served, guests are welcome to bring their own beverages from the nearby 7-11. The portions may be small, but they are flavorful. We tried dishes like chicken, squid, sticky beans with prawns, beef, vegetables, and more. The service was friendly and the bill for five people came to 80 ringgit. Overall, a great dining experience that is definitely worth a visit.
We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from hotel staff who suggested it for authentic Malay cuisine. As soon as we sat down, my son noticed a deceased cat not far from us, near the kitchen. Initially, we thought the cat was simply sleeping, but after a few minutes, we realized it was lifeless and in an unnatural position. The staff seemed to ignore the cat as they walked by. This unsettling situation led us to promptly leave the restaurant.
Try their Duck Curry and all sort of nasi lemak (rice cooked with coconut milk and served with hard boiled egg, cucumber, peanuts, anchovies, spicy gravy called sambal and u can add on all sort of sambal like squids, prawn, chicken etc)
This nasi lemak came highly recommended as one of the best in Kuah town .. but I think is just average not bad but not the best I have had. I had the nasi lemak with beef rendang the sambal not too spicy, beef rendang was tender and flavor was good. The nasi lemak also came with a serving of kangkung, crispy ikan bilis and peanuts, fried egg and your choice of beef rendang, ayam masak merah, or shrimp with stinky beans. I read they have duck but I guess not tonight. My plate of nasi lemak cost me RM 7.50 not expensive not cheap .. price is acceptable.
Variety to choose to go with your regular nasi lemak. Cheap but small portion. We came when it was just opened, so service was fast. Laksa was a bit salty.
