We came to breakfast with the hope of trying a vegan Haggis-Bap, only to find out that it was no longer available on the menu. However, we inquired at the counter and they were able to make us a substitute with vegan mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and roasted peppers, which are usually only served after 12 o'clock. The toastie was simple yet delicious, and we were grateful that they were able to accommodate us with something outside of their usual menu.
Despite the limited menu options for breakfast and lunch, the food at this restaurant in Scotland was some of the most delicious I had during my two-week visit. It is a convenient choice for those looking for vegan options in the highlands, as they can enjoy their meal outside the castle without needing to purchase a ticket. However, it is important to note that due to Covid restrictions, there may be a wait for seating.
Unfortunately, it seems that the restaurant no longer offers the items they used to have. That's a shame.
I recently tried the vegan mushroom sandwich at this restaurant, which came with crisps. It was decent, and I was pleased to see they offered vegan cheese. However, they only had one vegan option on the menu, and I felt that the price of £7.90 was a bit steep. Overall, my experience was just okay. (Review updated on June 21, 2023)
