Ranges Charcoal Chicken - KYNETON

We were coming back from a drive and literally pulled over for the charcoal. This place didn't fail to impress us. The chicken schnitzel was double stacked with the freshest ingredients and tasted delicious. On a bad note, no washrooms or a place to wash our hands. So be prepared to seek a washroom after you eat your meal. I had to walk down the street to a public washrooms..

They have a $10 credit card limit but if you get large chips and gravy you just scrape in. The large chips is very large, enough for a fair few people. About 3 times the size of a normal BP large. It feels a bit desolate and you're normally the only one in there, but that's fine. Ring and order to avoid waiting as they fresh cook the chips. The lady is nice and chatty.

I rated 5 for a couple of reasons. Was on a drive out of Melbourne looking for views etc. Having come from Sydney i had spent the past 14 months in Melbourne looking for decent Toum (garlic sauce) and here in a little town North West of Melbourne, a gold rush town, I found gold. This store is nothing fancy but its not the place you eat, it's the food. The gentleman was happy to serve me a not from the menu meal and when I asked for garlic sauce he said yes. Now in the past here in Victoria I have been very disappointed. This time? No. This was the best Toum I've had! He even gave me extra! On top of that, the baklava was on point! Thank you for being in town. This was thr best thing about Kyneton!

Family Treat chicken deal was excellent in taste and quality. My kids did comment that the chicken was a bit smaller than normal.

Nice chicken and chips... I got the chicken Caesar salad to and was try the rice pudding as the Staf recommend... Wasn't regret at all... Very friendly Staf... Will comeback
