That's when I discovered Honeyfish. Although it was a bit of a drive, I was willing to make the trip. The fish was incredibly fresh, but the service could use some improvement. It wasn't bad, but it also didn't stand out in a positive way. Since I opted for takeout, it didn't bother me much. In fact, the portion sizes for the price were better than what I usually find back in Texas. If you're okay with a staff that's not particularly friendly (they're not rude, just a bit reserved), I would definitely recommend trying this place.
I'm sorry to say that this restaurant no longer uses fresh ingredients. Pickled jalapeños? That's a no for me.
I really enjoyed it! The crunchy topping with sesame and furikake was absolutely delicious. It is a bit on the pricey side; I opted for a small bowl and added a scoop for an extra $2.
