We just stopped just for a drink and found the dinner menu very appealing so we stayed to dine. We were not disappointed! The best restaurant food I have eaten for a long time. Unpretentious, classic french with some innovative twists. Well-balanced tastes and high quality products. For starter: a dreamy combination of boudin apples and foie gras in perfect unison. This is heaven. For the main course: Sourris d'agneau, juicy and perfectly coked and served with a funny kind of peeled tomato somehow dehydrated on the outside yet almost raw inside, very fine taste. My dessert: crepe suzette was good but maybe not as exceptional but served with a very delicious homemade orange sorbet. The cafe gourmand was also very interesting. The prices were average but the food quality was far above the standard.
Stopped there for lunch on the way to our gite, portions are rather big and the cuisine is by nature quite heavy , but everything is very tasty and the local ingredients are of fantastic quality (the owner will quite happily tell you all about the various breeds of cows you can find in the area). It was a bit off season, so the place was far from full, but all in all a very pleasant lunch. We only had two courses (main dessert), if you order a starter I 'd recommend picking something light or forgetting about dessert...
