Kobe Japanese Steak House, Maui

We typically eat at Kobe's 2 or 3 times for dinner whenever we visit Maui. We really enjoy the food and have a fantastic time watching the chef in action! We're heading to Maui again this February 2013, and we're eagerly looking forward to our visit!

This was our fifth night dining in Maui, and we were really looking forward to another wonderful meal. Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite a disappointment. We had a reservation for 7:30 and were seated right on time. However, once we were at our table, we waited 45 minutes for the chef to acknowledge us. To make matters worse, our waitress took our order incorrectly, which forced the chef to leave our table to get the right items to cook. After he finished preparing everyone else's meat, he completely forgot our order and accidentally served our food to another table. The chef seemed to have no personality and just laughed it off, which didn't help the situation at all. We definitely don't recommend this place to anyone. On top of everything, they added a 20% gratuity to our bill automatically, despite there only being two of us dining. They certainly didn't earn that tip!
