It was perfect - the yellow umbrellas and the blue sky and water made a serene setting. Our waitress was attentive and met all our needs. The food was excellent and we hated to leave. We will definitely be back and I have been spreading the word about this place. Watching the boats on the water is a big plus. We hope to come back for a sailboat ride and lunch now that is being offered during the week.
I made a reservation at 7:30 for my son's birthday celebration while staying at the River Crab hotel. We were finally seated at 7:45, but by 8:05 no one had come to our table. We had to ask for water, and by 8:15 a young boy brought us water and promised to send a waitress over. By 8:30, we still had not been served by a waitress. After telling the hostess to send someone over, we waited until 8:40 with no service in sight. Every waitress seemed to ignore us as if we weren't even there. Frustrated, we decided to leave the restaurant and find another place to eat. This ruined my son's birthday celebration, with the experience being the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. I will make sure to inform my friends about the terrible service we received. There is no excuse for such poor service.
In sum, I was disappointed with this restaurant. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. The place has potential, but the entrees were absolutely terrible. I ordered the potato-encrusted whitefish, but the potatoes were undercooked and gross. My wife's beef medallions were overcooked. The only good things were the bread and the wine. Overall, there was nothing great about this location, so I will not be returning.
For a large restaurant , noise was minimal. There's enough spacing between tables, so one is not subjected to hearing someone else's conversation. This seems to be a welcome feature of most Landry restaurants.Your prices are the highest we have encountered at most better restaurants including Landry restaurants. The most we have paid, including a 20% tip was $100. In Florida we go to your type of restaurant once a month. Our $128 bill at the River Crab restricts us to consider it only a "special occasion" restaurant.
4th of July week end; Sunday Brunch.Service was exceptional ( Maria ) and the food was above average.Awesome view of the river and boats; sitting on the deck is best. The food would get 5 stars if it was all identifiable and the roast beef was carved thinner. All else; Great !
