However, we were disappointed to learn upon arrival that they no longer offered it. The waiter suggested a tofu stir fry as an alternative, but it turned out to be very disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant to vegans or anyone seeking a plant-based meal.
My husband and I are both vegan, but his entire family (parents, older brother and wife, younger brother) are not. So, finding a restaurant that caters to everyone's dietary needs can be a challenge. Luckily, Roy's was a hit with the whole family. We all had a great time at Roy's. My husband and I enjoyed delicious cocktails, appetizers, unique entrees that impressed even the non-vegans, good wine, scrumptious dessert, and a fascinating Japanese shochu. The restaurant offers a dedicated vegetarian menu that can be modified to be vegan-friendly. There were three appetizers, three entrees, and one dessert option to choose from (though these change seasonally). The waiter was knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and was able to make the necessary modifications. Everyone left the restaurant happy and satisfied.
I love the vegetarian menu at this restaurant. While I enjoyed the meal, I don't think it's worth the price. There are better options at higher-end restaurants that offer a superior dining experience.
Ask for the veg menu. Everything on it is vegan or can be made vegan. It was all superb. Our server was fairly knowledgeable but checked with the chef when he wasnt certain. They start you off with free spiced edemame. Then we got a roasted brusell sprout and cauliflower appetizer along with some beet poke. For entrees, my husband got the eggplant penne and I got the mushroom scallops over sundried tomato risotto. Everything was delicious, maybe a tad saltier than I prefer but very well composed flavors overall. Highly recommend it all! I'll post some pictures!
My man and I are both vegan, but his whole family (parents, older brother and wife, younger brother) are not. they can therefore imagine how difficult it was to find restaurants that make the whole family happy. roy was not part of the divisive restaurants. all enjoyed our time at roys very much. my man and I enjoyed amazing cocktails, an appetizer, unique entrees, which even impressed the all-round, good wine, delicious dessert and a fascinating Japanese high. the restaurant has a dedicated vegetarian menu (for this they can arrive that all vegan-friendly can be modified. there were three appetizers, three entrees and one dessert for selection (although this change was seasonal) the waiter was knowledgeable about the nutritional requirements and made easy the necessary switch. all went happy and full of dinner.
