We ordered the chickpea and guanciale on toast, squid ink pasta, and pizza with Maui cattle meatballs. Lovely decor and the menu offers a nice bit of storytelling and local recommendations. It’s a nice alternative to the kitschy restaurants on the main drag.
So sad to see it gone. It was our new favorite. Hope to see them
Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating to the needs of a 2yr old
Wagyu, gnocci and florida snapper were amazing. Our wedding guests were blown away.
Visited Sal Pepe on a recommendation and very glad we did. First off reservations are a must. You will not get in without a reservation most nights unless you’re Lebron James. The owners have a wonderful story. Michele is a native of Milan Italy and the food served here is authentic. Spouse Quiana is a battle borne Brooklynite who brings a sense of style to this little corner of New York in Lahaina. If you only like spaghetti and meatballs you’re in the wrong place. I had the carbonara. The flavor of egg and pancetta literally exploded in my mouth. We also enjoyed a selection of meats and cheeses that was outstanding including pecorino, pancetta and mortadella. My dining partner had the strozzapreti with a rich beef cheek ragu that was to die for. Too full for dessert we left with a promise to return.
