Just stopped for a quick light lunch and had a couple of starters so really cannot comment on full menu, however the wings were freshly cooked and very good, the sautéed prawns were in an excellent broth but as I ran out of bread and had no spoon had to reluctantly leave most of it. View over the lake/ river from the deck is lovely, good beverage selection and prices as expected.
Went to Jake's for our last dinner out at the lake before our vacation was over. Our waitress was friendly and the service was quick. The food was typical pub food, good portion sizes. The location is nice, looking out over the bay. The highlight for my son was that the place was named after him - and we had to take a picture if him with every Jake's at the lake sign!
A friend and I stopped for dinner while passing through Lake Cowichan. The restaurant had a beautiful setting with large windows and plenty of space. Our server was lovely, efficient, and friendly. We started with delicious crab cakes, served with a tangy mango chutney. My friend enjoyed a personal pizza with a thin, crispy crust, fresh toppings, and lots of cheese. I opted for the portobello mushroom burger with goat cheese and beet relish, which was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. It came with fries and salad, and I had to take half of it to go because it was so filling! The prices were reasonable and the view was fantastic.
The restaurant was conveniently located near our rental house and was recommended to us by the owner. Despite not having high expectations, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. The server was friendly and we had a great experience overall. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
