Ordered a bark dip very fat and not delicious at all. complained to the waitress and it remained on my bill. not impressed by eating today. the service was always beautiful.
My man and I live in duncan. I visited every summer lake cowichan, as I was a child and the riverside was a constant shot, but was not there in years! my cousin recommended that we stop at dinner and tell us. it was under new management and eating was great. we thought we were going to start eating and beating and were not disappointed! the pub decoration and atmosphere were fantastic! the view of the river from the upper terrace was beautiful! there was even live music on the lower terrace that was a beautiful surprise! eating, beer and service were all fantastic! even the moans were super friendly. only suggestion would be to turn off the loudspeaker (radio/playylist music) on the upper terrace if it was live music so we could hear it better, but also not a big thing. I look forward to reviewing the hotel some time. many thanks for a beautiful evening; we are safe again! krysty jurgen
2 types of wings (big wing/beer special). the bbq wings were very dry and the lemon pepper was better. but not the best wings in the city. service was very good. music (justin beeber) a little if it is so loud for the 4:45 dinner...wonder people who were there. currently not open until 1 hour daily (do not make breakfast). server made a beer recommendation that was very good. also we have ordered a beef dip to share, and it was tasteless, but great pommes.
We were on a multi day cycling trip on the CVT and stayed our first night in Lake Cowichan. Hotel has been recently renovated and rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful giving us a separate...room to lock our bikes up inside. We had drinks in the pub, which was quite busy and service was a bit slow, but breakfast the next morning was awesome and service spot on!!
