Shepard's At Erlowest - Lake George

Wow! The food here is absolutely amazing. The head chef for sure knows what he's doing. I was a bit let down on the sparerib but my wife's pork chop was beyond expectations. We would 100% eat here again!!

I've really got to give it five stars. It was pretty perfect from appetizer to dessert. I had the scallop appetizer, which was just a dream. I had the Mrs. and the mojito cocktails, which had the right amount of alcohol. We both had venison, which was expensive but I understand. Chef really knows what he's doing in every department, especially plating. Beautiful service from beautiful Dina. It felt like an experience more than just a meal. I'll remember this date night as a key highlight of my trip.

Five star prices with two star food quality. Atmosphere was pleasant. Staff was friendly. I actually felt bad that they had to apologize for the poor food quality. I don't recommend ordering any of the steaks. Their chef does not know how to properly cook one. Of the two steaks we ordered, both were overcooked, one to the point of being inedible. Also being understaffed, the waiter was unable to return to our table in a timely manner to ask if everything was ok. Would not recommend.

The restaurant lacked a fine dining atmosphere, as the lights were set too brightly. The food was quite disappointing, with little flavor and creativity, and the portion sizes were small relative to the high prices. However, the service was acceptable. Overall, I have no plans to return or recommend this place to others.

Upon arriving on Saturday, we were delighted by the beautiful evening, only to discover that they were hosting a wedding, which meant no outdoor seating was available. While I understand that mistakes happen, this was extremely inconvenient for me. Had I known that outdoor dining wouldn’t be an option, I wouldn't have made the reservation in the first place. I expected at least a complimentary drink as a gesture after the mishap, but we received nothing. To make matters worse, the restaurant was mostly empty, and I finally understood why. If you’re going to require a credit card for reservations, there should be accountability in your service. It's clear what kind of establishment this is. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
