We saw signs for this place on US 27 and a flyer in our hotel, so we decided to review it. We were so happy. This place is so charming and fun (BTW, it's FREE to go the only fee if you bought something. It is a farm in the middle of nowhere surrounded by vineyards, chickens, a pig, and a super nice owner (it is a few miles from US 27 . We talked to the owner for a long time, she was so friendly and friendly. My friend tried a few wines and then bought the one she liked best (no fee for sampling). The gift shop is filled with jams, wine, food and cute things to buy (take some time to take care of all unique things. But the BEST part is the beautiful chickens. They can feed them and they come directly to you and are friendly and really beautiful. I loved the cocks that were crooked. The shop is so charming with beautiful floors and ceilings. It is an open airspace, and there was such a beautiful breeze in even tho it was a hot day (I was here 9/12/2018 . This is a GREAT place to bring children, or buy a beautiful gift, or visit the delicious wines. As I said, the lady was so friendly and welcoming, we were very happy that we stopped! (PLEASE take a second to see my photos the chickens are SO sweet and friendly! :
Another trip to Henscratch Farms and another update! During this visit we enjoyed a wonderful country music band, a milkshake snack and a fun crowd! The owner in the store was happy and welcoming. She let my son run around like a crazy person in her business, so I appreciated that. It should be noted that the reason for all my review is updates because every visit to Henscratch has made another experience. I realized why this is on this recent visit: if you want to make a trip to Henscratch, my advice would be to review their website for events and other interesting things to make sure you come at the right time. The farm and the winery itself is sweet (and small) to see, but a little underwhelming when nothing goes on.
My sister and I are always looking for new adventures while I am here visiting from Delaware. The web site looked like this was going to be a great day trip for us from Cape Coral. Upon arriving realized that this is a very small facility. I asked to sample a few of the wines to which I was told I would be charged a fee. A fee, to taste a wine that I may want to purchase. I have never paid a fee at any winery that I have visited in the past. The lady that waited on us was not at all friendly. It was an effort for her to answer our questions about the wines or to assist us in any way. I would not recommend this farm/winery to anyone nor would I go back.
This place is cute and offers some good, free fun. I came here to see the chickens, pick strawberries ands taste the wine. My son and I had a fun time feeding the chickens and were able to see some recently lain eggs. They also have a friendly pig here. We were able to roam around and pick berries which was fun but didn't last too long. I did not taste the wine this time but look forward to doing that in my next visit. I did indulge in a strawberry milkshake that was very tasty. The country store is well stocked with cute little niknaks but nothing really stood out to me. All in all I would visit again. Hopefully next time I will try the wine!
