Real gem of an Indian restaurant.Have been here 4 or 5 times now and consistently very good. This visit we had their chicken special dish where one can pick from 4 vegetables to accompany Also the kadeer special sauce vegetarian dish. Large saffron rice to share. All dishes excellent. Very friendly ,attentive staff.
Staff are very friendly and food is always consistently great tasting! They catered to our vegetarian and vegan needs with lots of helpful suggestions. We highly recommend this restaurant to all! Very well priced for the quality of food. Thank you for your help, see you again soon :)
I stopped in here for lunch about a month ago. Several people had told me that they love butter chicken so I thought I would give it a go. It was excellent. The way this restaurant prepared it was flawless. The chunks of chicken were huge and tender. I accompanied it with naan, which was nice and thick. Just the way I like it. This is a great addition to the local Lara foodie scene.
We recently attended the Avalon Airshow and didn't expect to have the amazing spectacles of the day almost eclipsed by our spectacular dinner that night (and by our late lunch the next day - once wasn't enough)... And to think that we almost didn't eat there as it had a bit of a 'fast food' look about the shopfront, albeit a spotlessly clean and classy one. Well, never judge a book by its cover... The food was a revelation! - lovingly prepared fresh and presented beautifully. They have a very good menu selection - the usual Australian favourites (butter chicken etc), but for the more adventurous, they also have some dishes very rarely seen in Australian Indian restaurants which was very exciting for us. An absolute stand out dish was the Gobi Manchurian (Cauliflower cooked in a uniquely Chinese-influenced Indian style - to the unitiated this might sound a bit suspect, but I can assure you that it is fantastic - it is one of my all time favourite dishes). I have had it many times in India and Singapore, but I would have to say that this is the best example EVER...Try it!! The Peshawari naan was heavenly too.The service from the genuinely lovely and very hard-working couple who own it was absolutely first rate. BYO is welcome and clean glasses are offered for it. There is a bottle shop around the corner. Vegetarians and vegans can be happily catered for. As the meals are prepared fresh, it can take a little bit of time for them to come out, but it is well worth the wait. Please consider letting them know if you enjoyed your meal as they seem to have really put their hearts into this quite new restaurant, and I am sure it would be appreciated. This is top quality Indian food with very reasonable prices. Apparently one customer even comes regularly from Ballarat to get his fix...I wish I lived close enough to do the same!
