Largs Bay Kiosk

So disappointed at the horrible fish I ordered at one of my favourite places... I used to live in Taperoo, so I almost lived at the beach and always ate at the Largs Bay Kiosk as it was a convenient distance from home when I walked the dogs. Today we went to the Kiosk, where I hadn't been in ages, since lockdowns. By the time we got served we were ravenous but we ended up leaving hungry. A long, long time ago they used to have the best fresh fish and delicious burgers. Then they stopped the really fresh fish and started selling frozen, but it was still edible and palatable. I'm not exactly a fish connoisseur I don't have Gordon Ramsey's expectations of fast food but this was simply awful. Now, it's like rubber and cardboard for batter. The odour was dreadful. Since Sotos is a nearby competitor, its unfortunate that after queuing up for most of 20 minutes, I gave the fish back as it was inedible... Won't be back for another very long time, unless they change their supplier quality of food. :

I was on a beach walk on a cool afternoon and stopped in for a hotdog and a hot chocolate. The hot dog was great but the hot chocolate was awful. It had no taste and seemed like 10% milk, 89% water and 1% chocolate. I threw the hot chocolate away after two terrible sips. Either improve the quality of your hot chocolate or take it off the menu. Disappointed.

My husband and I have stopped here often for an ice cream and drink, but recently had their fish and chips. It was delicious, and I was surprised at the large range of food and drink that they have available quiche, cakes and slices, smoothies etc. I am sure that there is something for everyone. They are also open from early in the morning until later in the night which is an added blessing.

Lovely people, really good coffee, friends and l are there all the time with our dogs. Recommend it to anyone . They are careful with Covid restrictions too. Very good fish and chips too.

This restaurant has fantastic food, especially the fries, and is perfect for families because there is a playground near the kiosk.
