Second visit here in three month period because I liked the Eggplant Parmesan. Eggplant is sliced thin and dipped in flour, then egg. Excellent. Pasta is not homemade. Sauce is good not great.. My husband 's Seafood Combo dish was overpowered by the heavy tomato sauce. We think it would have been better with the alternative white wine sauce listed on the menu. It was not as good as the Seafood Fra Diavolo we have had at other restaurants in area. The bread is served warm and 'toasted, ' but it tasted stale on both visits. The crust crumbles. I wonder what it would taste like at room temp. A decent salad is included in the cost of the entree which is nice. They serve draft Peroni which contributed to the upgrade in stars. The service is good but not great. Sufficient servers but had to ask for refills on water. The 70 's music was blaring too loudly until someone must have asked for the volume to be toned down. We think there is better Italian food served in Schenectady.
I hadn’t been here in 10 years, I thought it was just a pizza joint, and it still looked the same from the outside so I just never bothered. But I was pleasantly surprised when I walked and discovered a warm, family Italian atmosphere. The service was fantastic, meatballs and chicken dishes we ordered were delicious. I do agree with previous reviewer that bread could be fresher but not enough to give bad review. Pasta was Al dente which is important for me. We will be back again soon!
Routinely I order their tortellini alla Panna (tortellini with pink sauce). It always keeps me coming back for more. I brought an out of town friend, and they enjoyed their chicken marsala. Plates are probably big enough to share, but we were extra hungry and both came close to finishing our own. We also got their garlic knots, YUM. I highly recommend it.
Arrived just before 8:00pm, it was a long day. The service was super friendly and the food was great. Was expecting some annoyance at my late arrival, but was just the opposite. Met with a smile and quickly provided a great seat. Best Marinara I have had in a long time. Will definitely return. yummy 5 plus stars.
Some might find it a touch expensive, but the selection was wonderful, including several dishes I had never even heard of before, let alone seen anywhere in the area. The meats were juicy, tender, and flavorful, and the vegetables still had plenty of life in them without being undercooked. The mushrooms, in particular, were just heavenly. The unsweetened iced tea was so good it was worthy of comment. The only disappointment was they had completely run out of our chosen desert, so we will have to come back to try that and other main courses that were competing for our attention. Definitely worth a look!!
