Aaj India Cafe - Launceston

We are big fans of Indian cuisine and AJ's did not let us down. Having visited India several times, I was impressed by how AJ was able to truly capture the authentic Indian cafe atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with AJ making sure our needs were met in a polite and non-intrusive manner. And the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

The service at this charming restaurant was wonderful. We felt well taken care of and were delighted to learn that it was BYO. Launceston has many great Indian restaurants and this is definitely one of them. The food is delicious, the decor is interesting, and the service is good. The only drawback was that one time we ordered dessert, they were a bit slow.

This restaurant is a fantastic spot to satisfy your Indian food cravings! The staff is extremely friendly and the cuisine is as authentic as it gets in the Western world. The spice level is moderate, but you can request it to be hotter if desired. The complimentary papadum and sweet chili sauces are delicious additions to the meal.

Good food and service. However, the shares are small for the price.

Wanting Indian within walking distance of our accommodation. AAJ’s was the second restaurant we tried as the first was fully booked. The wait staff were very welcoming and we couldn’t complain about the service or the food. We ordered the malal kofta and the butter chicken. Both dishes we enjoyable, perhaps not the best Indian we’ve ever had but we’d certainly return to AAJ’s. The rice and naan bread were delicious which allowed us the leave the restaurant rather satisfied. Quite impressed with the waitresses, both were attentive yet reserved and the waiter carried his own well also. Well done AAJ. Thank you
