The Royal Oak - Launceston

Terribile, evitare tutti i costi. Tutto ciò che riguarda questo posto era FAD. Il cibo era insapore e poco cotto. Le verdure che sono aumentate con l'arrosto di essere su verdure fritte cotte, incluso il sedano. Chi mangia il sedano con un arrosto? La data appiccicosa era la cosa peggiore che abbia mai avuto. La salsa era in gelatina e fredda. Il mio amico ha ottenuto un pacchetto di pollo filo con patate all'aglio. La pasticceria al forno fu cucinata, il pollo asciutto e la patata bollita era cruda con la crema versata sopra. Il capo deve effettivamente odiare il cibo / la vita o non avere papille gustative per creare un cibo così dolce. Non mangerò di nuovo, anche se fosse libero.

We came here on the recommendation of some ex-locals and we weren't disappointed. We sat in the public bar area and there was a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and chatty and gave us tips on things to do. Although we had planned on moving on to a restaurant we decided to eat there and it was delicious. Steak and seafood cooked perfectly.

They do offer specials however the meal portions seemed small if you are hungry. Great steak cooked to your request. Fresh enjoyable food would go again was there for work.

Reliable good pub fare at fair prices. Pleasant open atmosphere. Has good specials and drinks are not overpriced.

I should say that the outset that this review and rating is of the place as a pub/bar and not the food as we didn’t eat there.This is a pleasant bar, with proper tables and chairs rather than limited to high stools, but the Melamine wipe-down tables and white metal chairs make it look more like a café. Having said that, it was the best pub we found in Launceston so went several times for our early evening drinks, encouraged by the friendliness of the staff, the range of beers and the fact that it had tables and chairs rather than limited to high stools like so many other places. Although we didn’t eat there I did think the food looked and smelled good.In short I thought it was good and the best pub bar I’d found in Launceston, but unfortunately there is not the option to rate it as ‘Good’. I didn’t think it was good enough to say it was ‘Very Good’ as a pub so I have rated it as ‘Average’ on the basis that this means good but nothing more.
