Barbie's Restaurant - Laval

Large portions but the food is just so so. Beer's cold. Great service. The french onion soup is bland and the burgers are frozen. The poutine was great.

My 17 and 12 year old children wanted to take me out to celebrate my 50th birthday and insisted they wanted to pay. So, I chose a restaurant we all enjoy and was within their price range.Since it was a Tuesday night, we bought one appetizer and got one free. Freebies are always a good thing! We had calamari and onion soup - both were ok. My son had a Caesar's salad...very fresh and good.My son had fish'n chips, which was a nice portion. My daughter had baked lasagna - she enjoyed it. I had the Chicken Brochette, with rice and salad...the portion was HUGE! The rice was cooked perfectly - not mushy at all, a bit on the al dente side just the way I like it. My daughter and I had half of our meals doggy bagged to bring home because there was so much food. And how much did it cost? $53!!! AMAZING!!! It is a great family restaurant, with decent food, at a great price. What more can you ask for?

Stopped in for lunch with a friend both of us had the French Onion soup, which I found ok but a little on the plain side taste wise, followed by a filet steak which was good. On the side a potato which looked like it was still in its skin but had been mashed and was quite good as well. Overall a good lunch in what would be described as a sports bar and grill type restaurant.

Amazing breakfast, huge portions, and very great value for pricing and the food you get. Loved the blueberry pancakes!!! Will be back in a couple weeks for more.
