Contribuisci feedbackFish and chip basket was a bit surprising, was $12.50 and I confused my fish for fries. The passive aggressive notes around the store are killing the once fun atmosphere. Thou shall order their food to go if showing 15mins before closing, thou must fill their water cup with water, thou must shall order their sauces at time of order. Ugh. Don?t think I?ll be coming back. If your annoyed by your customers, perhaps it?s time to think about a different venture.
Had a order of two 5 piece fish with onion ring. What I got was one 5 piece with six onion rings and one 3 piece with 6 onion ring. Also in same order I had one 3 piece fish strip basket what I got was fish fingers and 6 onion rings, and finally the single fish meal was the only one that was standard with a good cut of fish but cold fries. Pictures below tell the story: This is also not the first time I have had an issue with this eatery. My first pick up order had been left to sit out for more then 4 hours. The lady cooking, possibly the supervisor, expected me to take the cold fish. When I objected she said fine she would reheat the fish. Which this all may have caused food poisoning. Only when I told her that I also have my Managers Serve Safe and would report the situation to the FDC, did she redo the order. So far not a very pleasant experience at this eatery.
I have tolerated the original reviews. it was the old location and was written years ago. they have really uploaded their game at this place. the restaurant is now in front and in the middle and that is good. fish and chips are their appetizer, although they also have the other comfort classics. we are here several times. on this trip we went for standard fish and chips. it is crispy with perfect teig. the cod has not been overcooked at all. the pommes were good. they make a good sticky toffee pudding with custard for dessert. I used the full advantage of buying a series of goodies from bourbon creams to back bacon. I wish it wasn't so far from me, but it's worth the trip.
I have read some reviews that little taste said when Britain was the place for fish chips, so I was excited to give it a try. first, the restaurant is a really good size, it is cheesy and very unique British, they even have a small area of British / European food they can buy. the staff was very nice and friendly. my nabeby and I ordered both the big fish chips that comes with 2 large pieces fish and fries, fry sauce is an extra .50 cent. (they are currently from piccadilly chips, to notice that was disappointing. we decided to replace a series of the pommes for wobble rings, this ended a good decision as they were the best part of the meal. now to the fish liked my man really, he felt it better than most we had lately. the beerbatter was good, but my was a bit soggy and fell apart easily. I eat for spicy, Iol. I am all about the tartaric acid sauce, hot sauce, frige sauce, etc. after said that the tartaric acid sauce was only meh, nothing special or even edible. I used the malt vinegar that was present on the table. the frige sauce for the fries and tweeper rings was good. my hubby would give them a 4 stars, I would give them only 3 or 3.5 if I ever in layton area I would give them a try again if from no other reason than my man loves fish chips.
Taste of Britain is a pretty good place to grab fish and chips. it was just as I had imagined it would be right up to the malt vinegar. I have the daily special that was for me a lot of fish and chips. the restaurant was clean and the service was fast. the personal was exceptional and welcoming. I could even taste my first deep roast twinkie. not sure if this is something I often want to do, but it wasn't too bad.
