Every dish served, from the sake, Nigiri, Udon, to the ice cream cheese cake was served at the right temperatures, very flavorful, and crafted with love. You can tell the humble chefs were trained very well. Even the bubbly waitress was doing great for her very first day! Definitely going back!
The food was amazing at this sushi restaurant. My husband order the ramen and a rainbow roll. (No shrimp because of a food allergy) I ordered the spicy salmon roll (which could of been spicer in my opinion) and the soy paper roll which was super creamy and delicious (can't taste the soy paper differences compared to the seaweed paper) I was just curious to try. I usually get a Philadelphia roll so this was very similar but BETTER. Forgot to write down the roll name but highly recommend. Our favorite of the night was the ramen! The broth was nice rich but not too salty or oily. A+
We ordered four rolls of sushi; the April, Mars, Malibu, and Rainbow Roll. All four were delicious, the Malibu was wonderfully crafted to be paired with a ponzu sauce. The Mars and April, are well made as stand alone sushi, and beautifully presented. And the Rainbow Roll always fills the gap with fresh assortments of nicely filleted fresh cuts of salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, ahi and avocado. The service was exceptional, friendly, and observant. Replenishing drinks, and always available upon request. The restaurant is set in a small industrial park, however once you step inside you forget. A nice set up with tables, sushi bar, and floor tables for parties. The layout is spacious and not cramped between tables, if you like having a space around your table without the chance of eavesdroppers. It is not an all you can eat buffet, order your favorites off the menu, and enjoy the ambience. Head here for your sushi fix and you won't be disappointed.
Don't let the strip mall style location scare you away from some great service and. Sushi! I have been coming here for years and it doesn't disappoint. There have been a lot of sushi places come and go around Layton and this one holds strong. The food is good, and ambience and service meet expectations every time. Edamame, egg rolls and a variety of sushi are my go to items.
I unfortunately haven't eaten here in years, but this is where my son always requests we get sushi for his birthday dinner (the rest of us get Chinese food since sushi for 6 is out of the budget). This time around he got the Mars, Vegas, Black Tiger, and California rolls. He loved the first three, but didn't care for the California at all. I think he's more of a fried/baked roll fan. We placed an online order around 4:50 and it said it wouldn't be ready until 5:45 to 5:50. When I tracked the order about 20 minutes later, it said 5:55. We were out running errands at 5:30 and decided to stop by just to check, and to our surprise, the sushi was ready and just sitting on the counter. The receipt showed the pick up time was supposed to be at 5:40. I really wish we had received an email or a call saying our order was ready early. That's the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
