Good Thai food remained elusive until this evening when we had dinner at Roy Thai. In fact, at Roy Thai we had the most authentic...Thai food since we left Bangkok in 2002. My wife's red curry was served in a bowl with a traditional consistency and just the right amount of spice. My Tom Yum Potaek soup had a delicious Kafir, basil, lemon grass broth. It appeared that few people dine in, but the take out business seemed to be flourishing. Like many cuisines, the native and exported versions are quite different. I commend Roy Thai for their authenticity.
I ordered myself. I love everything fresh with fresh products. the aromen were amazing. he asked how spicy I wanted it and nailed it. there were so many choices to choose from it was hard to decide. the part was huge. I'll eat tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait to go back.
I was in the opposite for a month, and it was nice not to go and cook all the time! a great family-run Thai restaurant with authentic flair. I loved the cold salad rolls and curry puffs (a flocculent vegan baked stuffed with sworn carrots and sweets. make them on request about everything on the menu vegan. a jewel!
After a long trip, we took our first night in Leamington. Friendly service. We ordered a Papaya salad and a green curry chicken. The Papaya salad was good. The green curry was perfectly seasoned, but it was a little thin. Not the best... Thai I've ever eaten, but it was reasonable. I'm going back.
That was the worst Thai food I ate. The curry was watery and bland. The sauce for the spring rolls also tasted as if it had been watered down. The noodles were hot, but seemed to be reheated. A real disappointment.
