L'Osteria - Leipzig

Go hungry! How else are you going to devour L'Osteria's humongous 50 cm pizza? I didn't actually know that the pizza was that big, but when it was served, my eyes definitely popped (OK, not literally). I had their Salsiccia Fresca pizza (for €11), while my husband tackled their Prosciutto e Funghi (for €10.50, photograph attached). It was quite the challenge to finish, but the fact that the pizza is served with a thin crust, definitely helped! In all, the pizzas were delicious. Service was also friendly and speedy. Our final bill (including drinks) was €30.70.

Beautiful inside and outside, great environmental. Food poor/average. Salad and tomato cream was ok. I tried risotto con funghi and was not eatable. I'm sorry but you might consider to take out this from your menu. I'm on gluten free diet so couldn't tried pizza. It's looks good/ might be to big for average human they made quite good panna cotta/ but better was the strawberry sauce :-)

Can't comment on Pizza. Bruschetta was good. Penne Arrabbiata was ok. Beer was nice. Good service pleasant decor etc. In the top half of Italian restaurants I've tried in Leipzig.

I was promised a big pizza and wasn't disappointed. It was hanging way over a 12" plate and was thin, crispy and tasty. Not bad for €11. My friend had pasta and salad which he pronounced OK, though he was very impressed with his strawberry fragile desert. It made a change to have reasonably priced wine in Germany as well

Pizza great and very large for single serving but very reasonable. So big for one person that you are more likely to share with your significant other. Crust very good and ingredients fresh. Cannot comment on rest of menu. But people seemed to be happy and from what I could see the pizza was a very popular item. Very friendly staff. Outdoor patio and inside option. Decent wine selections. On the edge of old town. Easy walk from city center. Definitely worth a visit for a change from German cuisine.
