Last Wednesday at 9:30, I visited Cobs and found no one in the store. I overheard a girl saying she was on her phone, which made me feel unwelcome. I believe that employees should not be on their phones while working, especially considering health and hygiene concerns. There was a young man in the back, and I heard the disrespectful way the girl spoke to him and to me. I wish people would be more mindful of their words and how they might affect others. Despite these issues, I really enjoy the product, especially the ham and cheese croissant from Lekkerbrottau. If the staff at Cobs in Lethbridge could improve their customer service, I would be more inclined to return or leave a better review. I believe the girl's name is Makayla, and she mentioned she was feeling angry, which is no excuse to ignore customers. The lack of respect for customers is very disappointing.
Fantastic breads love brown bread and raisin bread. It is expensive, but you get so good quality.
I have been a loyal supporter of Cobs Bakery in Lethbridge, AB since it first opened. While the prices may be higher than the grocery store, I am happy to support this local business that is open from 7am-7pm daily, employs many people, and donates food to the local community. The selection is great and I especially appreciate the friendly staff. Cobs offers a wide range of options on their regular menu as well as fun seasonal offers. The Scottish Baps are my all-time favorite and I also love their mini-loaf choices and the option of regular or thick-cut bread. The croissants are perfectly crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. While the Skorn may not be traditional scones, they are a delicious dessert option. My absolute favorite treat is the Hot Cross Buns with chocolate chips, available on Saturdays for about 6 weeks in March/April.
I work at Cobs and it is the best bread, baked fresh each day. A different charity takes what ever is left at the end of every day. I only eat Cobs bread and I don't get tired of it! The lemon blueberry scones are...my favorite, the Lekkerbraut bread and sunflower flax sourdough are my favorite loaves, Scottish bap buns are the best and the focaccia bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic is so amazing!
