The ambiance, service and food quality is simply exceptional. We arrived early to enjoy superb cocktails on the terrace, The three of us were raving about our entrees during dinner. This was one of those rare evenings when every aspect was superlative. The staff smoothly and caringly responds to your every request. A must go place in Lisbon.
No less than excellent. This restaurant didn't disappoint. Visited it last Monday, for sure the best one I have been in Lisbon.
We had a mixed experience at Bahr. The terrace and cocktails were excellent, and the ambience outside was cozy and romantic. Our snack, Iberian pork, was flavourful, albeit a bit pricey for it's bite size. Our hostess was extremely accommodating and helpful. We were then ushered in for dinner, which we felt unfortunately fell a bit short of the extremely high standards of Portuguese dining scene. Some of the staff were attentive and accommodating, while others were a bit short and made the restaurant feel less premium than it presents itself to be. The carabineiro rice was a bit salty for our tastes and the octopus, while good, wasn't particularly outstanding. Ultimately, I feel conflicted about Bahr the terrace would be an excellent date night, although pricey, but for the dinner, I would go elsewhere for that pricetag.
The restaurant is not easy to find as it is part of the Barrio Alto Hotel. It is located on the 5th floor, with a very nice terrace. The staff is very professional and welcoming. The dinner service was performed very well, and the ambiance is nice with an open kitchen. The food is well presented and good. Probably I would have expected something more, since many dishes (despite being well prepared) were missing taste. The meet was soft, well cocked but not tasting. In a similar way the dessert where the “banana ice cream” was not tasting banana at all. I would recommend to review the supplier or the preparation methods since the restaurant has much more potential.
