The food is solid and generally tasty (though avoid the store-bought thin fries and go for the hand-cut ones), with these exceptions: superb homemade desserts, and one of the best gin and tonics I've ever had. The strawberry rhubarb dumplings with ice cream were delightful, the last time I was there.
$12.00 'special' burger that was on the small, cheap buns and was not even tasty. The waitress was rude and could care less about customers. My husband had a can of coke and upon leaving and paying our bill we find that they add the $.10 deposit for the can but of course they keep the can. What the hell is this all about? The salt on the table had bugs inside of it and you would think I was asking for 'the world' when I asked the imbecile to give us a clean one. We will never be back.
Our group of 6 stopped in Lockeport for lunch. This seaside community is beautiful. We were really happy to have wandered into The White Gull and got a lovely table on the patio. Our server was pleasant and efficient. She appeared to be the only server and was easily handling all of the guests/orders as quickly as she could. We ordered fishcakes, chowder, lobster roll and the daily special, a burger. The food was hot, very tasty and the portions were generous. The biscuits were good, the burger was handmade and really delicious, the fish cakes were nicely seasoned. Overall, what a great experience. The view was stunning and we were all delighted that the patio was not overrun with seagulls swooping and screaming for food. Wonder what the secret is to that?? Awesome lunch on a beautiful day.
We ordered take out but had a beer on the patio while waiting - great view! The food wasn't out of this world but staff were friendly.
Biked to Lockeport from Port Joli, had fish cakes for lunch at the White Gull. Sat on the deck, right by the water. Lovely day, and very nice fish cakes (see photo). Friendly staff. Lockeport is lovely, with a number of restaurants. White Gull is worth a visit, particularly if you sit by the water.
