This store has a lot of competition however if you're wanting tasty, asian food this is the place to dine in or takeaway.
Noodle Box - Upper Mount Gravatt, Brisbane. Fast food, Asian-style and with the possibility to eat healthy and not have to worry about breaking the bank. That is what Noodle Box is in a nutshell. Now, it is far from being the best representation of the cuisine around; however, for what it is, it is passable. Mostly for noodles (hence the name), it has now also incorporated rice and even salads. My dining buddy and I went here one night, because there was not much in the house and he wanted to get something healthy and affordable. They have a system worked out with ordering the meals. Going from one side of the counter - placing an order, then paying followed up by receiving a receipt (hold on to it, your order number is on it) - to the other awaiting the order, while there are chefs cooking the meals and another person at the counter boxing them up and calling out the order numbers. It is well-structured and efficient. For the a limited time during the Chinese New Year celebrations, one of the options on offer was Sweet Chili Prawn. The number of prawns in the meal was generous, and I am talking about big, juicy and substantially sized prawns here - though, when talking about the smaller versions I use the term shrimp (it just sounds logical to me). As a whole, the meal was a decent dish. It had a substantial serving, the noddles were thick, and the flavours were distinct and wholesome. In hindsight I would have asked for the extra chili, as I quite like my food spicy. There was an offer to get any meal ordered as a Box Meal or another combo that I forget the name of at the moment. With the Box Meal, on the side is a choice of 600mL Coke (here, it was literal - one of the Coca Cola options, no bottled water) and two spring rolls; I opted for the lemon Coke. These spring rolls were possibly amongst the best that I have eaten. They were big and freshly hot from the deep fryer. Noodle Box does what it does well. It fills a needed niche of fast food, that is nutritionally as well as financially friendly. For what it's worth, this is a good choice.
This Noodlebox is absolutely awful definitely DON'T EVER GO TO THIS ONE!!! Management is so rude. They stuffed up my son's meal, so I had to drive all the way up there to get a new one. I explained that he couldn't eat onion as it made him sick and there was onion in this dish. He argued with me, then tipped the box out into a bowl and said there is only two pieces you can't have another one. His wife comes out and agrees with him. This argument went back and forth until finally they realised I wasn't leaving without a new one. He made smart comments while making it. It was the worst experience I have ever had. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. The food the rest of bought was tasteless and you get no ingredients. For example, asking for broccoli and you get one piece!!! Do yourself a favour and go to another store. DISGUSTING FOOD AND DISGUSTING SERVICE.
The owner of this place pretty much bullies you into spending more money. Won't take several "NO"s for an answer when you refuse to upgrade your meal or buy a drink and is not upfront about how much money either additional item costs. Completely unprofessional and greedy. As for the food... It was rather flavourless and seemed like a few ingredients were missing (e.g. no egg in the Pad Thai). I walked away from this experience feeling scammed. I'm never going back to this particular Noodle Box again.
