Gainsborough Restaurant - London

Since the old owners sold, this restaurant has not been the same. It was apparent that the new owners are not sports fans as the TV's were showing re-runs of hockey games instead of NFL football games that were already playing in England on a Sunday morning. Despite getting our order in relatively quickly and before a large group, the service was lacking. My poached eggs were overcooked and served in too much water, indicating a lack of kitchen skill. Additionally, the gravy served with fries was clearly from a can and gelatinous. The restaurant seemed understaffed with only two people trying to manage all the tasks. It was clear they were unprepared for a Sunday rush, as one staff member mentioned they were running out of staples for breakfast service and would have to close that menu down. The food was basic and prepared by an inexperienced cook. The larger group that arrived after us had still not been served by the time we left, showing a lack of efficiency. Overall, we will not be returning to this establishment and would not recommend it for breakfast. There are much better options like Westside Diner.

Our previous positive experience at this restaurant was not replicated during our recent visit. Due to being understaffed, we had to wait nearly an hour for lunch. The servers were clearly working hard, but there were not enough of them to efficiently handle the entire restaurant. The club sandwich was the only enjoyable meal at our table, as the other sandwiches were disappointing and the beef dip was inedible. It appears that the restaurant excels at breakfast, so perhaps they should focus solely on that.

Amazing food great service. My favourite take out and dine place. Best pizza in London. Went with family, enjoyed the food and take out pizza .Great portions for great price.

We went in only because we have passed it a number of times. Stop very plain inside but was busy. We ordered a medium sized Canadian pizza. It was so big and out of this world good. Highly recommend for the pizza. You won’t be disappointed We could only eat 2 pieces each. My husband can’t wait to get to the leftovers.
