American Steak Fries - Long Beach

The sandwich was excellent. Fast and friendly service. Just a little North of the nice section of town. But great food!

I visited Steak and Fries with my boyfriend, and I was a bit hesitant at first. However, as soon as I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the premium steak sandwich with fries was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be returning!

The sandwiches themselves are your classic grilled offerings on a long bun. Back on the East Coast, we often had our steak sandwiches as cheesesteaks, typically loaded with steak, peppers, onions, sometimes mushrooms, and heaps of cheese! Here, they automatically include lettuce, tomato, and mayo, which I choose to skip, but if that's your preference, you're in luck! The other sandwiches are simply variations on this theme. My only suggestion for improvement would be to use sturdier, heartier rolls for the sandwiches. By the time I walk my to-go order home (just a couple of blocks), it can turn into a soggy (yet still delicious) mess! I attribute this to the bread being thin and overly absorbent. If they could use a more substantial roll, it would hold up better. That said, the bread doesn’t ruin the sandwich at all; this is just a potential enhancement that could elevate this place to legendary status.

I love this place. Reliably delicious food. I always get the steak sandwich combo. It's super tasty!

Would you like to have some quick and cheap food in the center of downtown, well this place is the best place to go. You can tell people who are responsible for the quality of food. They are kind and respectful. You also take debit cards if you don't have cash in your hand. Everything would come back.
