Mariscos Los Buchones - Long Beach

I visited this restaurant with my family, and we ordered four chilaquiles without carne asada. The portions of rice and beans were extremely small, around a quarter of a typical serving size. Additionally, the rice and beans had a smoky flavor that was quite unpleasant. To make matters worse, the waitress overcharged us, billing us as if we had ordered chilaquiles with carne asada instead of just the regular ones. The normal price is $14, but with carne asada it's $19, which felt like a tactic to make extra money. I won't be returning to this restaurant.

When we arrived, there wasn't a single person in sight. We tried to order burgers for our kids, but they had no bread or fries available. Then, just as luck would have it, they suddenly had fries after all! I swear the pozole tasted like it was made from Campbell's tomato soup—I couldn't bring myself to eat any of it. The oysters were also far from good. To add to our disappointment, the service from the waitress was lacking; she was curt and didn’t offer any refills. I highly recommend avoiding this place. Don't waste your money here—just trust me on this.

As for the food, it was just mediocre and had an odd resemblance to reheated leftovers. Some of the dishes came with sides of "fresh" chopped cabbage and radish, but the radish we received looked rather brown. My meal was meant to include a side of fresh chopped onions, but unfortunately, there was a hair in them. When I brought this to the attention of one of the waitresses, she seemed annoyed and did not offer an apology or suggest bringing a clean side of onions; she didn’t replace them at all. On a positive note, our waiter did apologize upon hearing about the issue, which we appreciated. Nevertheless, the combination of subpar food and poor customer service led to an overall disappointing experience.
