Ship Bottom Ice Cream - Long Beach

The ice cream was mediocre and overpriced. The menu at this location was very limited and lackluster, with uninspired flavors. They do offer a vegan option, which is a positive, but there was only one flavor available, and it was just plain with chocolate chips. The price was far too high for the size and quality, as I paid around $7.00 for a tiny scoop of a basic flavor. The food itself wasn't bad, just rather ordinary. The chocolate chips had an unpleasant taste. However, the service was good.

We live just a block away from this restaurant and decided to walk to Diary King the other night. We really miss The Meltdown. If you're looking for fewer flavor options, subpar service, higher prices, and smaller portions, then this is the place for you!

Wow! I just had their coffee ice cream and it was unbelievable. The new location was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly. You can definitely tell it's homemade!

This is not the meltdown which was our favorite on the island. It was bought over and only offers regular plain flavors?no mochachino or any of the unique/blended flavors and more creative offerings Meltdown had. We miss Meltdown.

Not the melt down?Although the ice cream was okay, there were not as many flavor options (too many vegan flavors). We did not feel as welcomed when we walked in but we were glad to walk away with ice cream.
