We were promptly seated when we arrived at a very nice table overlooking the ocean. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and a great choice no matter what day of the week.
The Branzino was buttery smooth. Paired with the salad and potatoes, this was a perfectly balanced meal. The manager on duty Liz, was absolutely phenomenal. In a time where customer service has seemed to decline nationwide, she went above and beyond.
Food was good, service was beyond horrible. My family and I visited this restaurant during the week, on a Monday. Most of the tables were empty, I 'd say about 30% capacity. My mother in law is disabled and in a wheelchair, she wanted to use the restroom and the corridor leading to the restrooms had chairs stacked up which shortened the width of the corridor. Made it very difficult for us to take her to restroom and her legs/feet hit the chairs and wall while trying to maneuver her in. I spoke with the matradee and advised her that the corridor was not wide enough to maneuver a wheelchair due to the chairs and her response was that 's where we stack our chairs shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Our reservation was at 7pm and it was not 715pm so I asked if our table was ready and they said that they were waiting for two more members of our party. I asked if we could be seated and I received an eye roll and she walked away again. But within a few minutes we were seated. We waiting patiently for over 10 mins and not one person came by to bring us water or bread or even greet us. We finally got the attention of a staff member and asked if we can get some water. They brought us a bottle and filled two out of three glasses with an inch of water, walked away. We waited a few more minutes and once again tried to get a staff members attention to order appetizers and we were advised that they would not be taking our order until our whole party has arrived, so we waited. Once our party arrived, we already knew what we wanted so everyone placed their orders. The appetizers came pretty quickly and they were delicious. The entrees arrived and everyone received their orders but my oder was incorrect, not what I ordered. I told the person that this was not what I ordered and within a couple of minutes our waiter came and said oh yes, you ordered the NY strip , walked away. There was no apology or anything else. I waited while everyone enjoyed their meals. The wait was so long that 3 out of 5 people in our party finished their meals. To add insult to injury, staff members came and started to clean up the table, which included taking my utensils and clearing everything in front of me. Shortly after that my entree arrived and I was well past the point of trying to salvage the experience so I asked for two containers. After waiting 10 minutes for the containers, I actually had to walk over to the matradee and ask her if I could get the containers and the check. I couldn 't get out of their quick enough. I 've read most of the reviews on here and other sites pertaining to this restaurant. I will admit the food is good but as most have stated, the service is terrible. Long Branch has developed into beautiful place over the years but it 's not the only shore front location to get a good meal. Asbury Park has regained its previous beauty so there 's no shortage of good food in the area. Save yourself the disappointment and try another restaurant.
Loved the outdoor seating vibe especially when the music is loud and the waves are crashing! It's amazing! Drinks are very good. Will have to come back and try food. Service was great! Update. I came back here for lunch! The food was awesome!!!!! Loved every dish! Service is very nice. Thank you!!
WRONGFULLY DENIED SERVICE: On Saturday, my 2 friends and I visited Sirena to get some drinks on our beach day. We were asked for our IDs which was totally fine, but the bartender, said “it looks fake” rather rudely, without further explanation and walked away from us. This confused us as our NJ licenses are in fact real, and we are all 22. When we asked him to scan our IDs (because they are real), he said no and that it was his right to deny service to anyone he believes does not look 21 and would not risk his job to serve someone who is under 21. Additionally, both he and the manager claimed they do not have a scanner at the restaurant. I do acknowledge that I look young for my age. However, so do many people who recently turned 21 or are in their early 20’s aka a lot of the people who are drawn to and visit Long Branch. This baffles me, because it defeats the purpose of having IDs if at the end of the day, the decision of whether or not I get served at a restaurant is up to the bartender’s opinion of how I look. Additionally, as an Asian Hispanic woman, it felt disturbing to be told how I look by an older white man and have him deny me and my 2 Hispanic friends service even though we did nothing wrong. If the restaurant is truly concerned about rightfully determining who is of age and the bartender is genuinely concerned about doing his job correctly, I believe the restaurant should invest in a scanner as soon as possible and make it protocol to use it. I’m afraid leaving the decision of who gets served up to the discretion of one person leaves an awful amount of room for discrimination. In fact, it might be in the restaurant’s best interest since their current protocol is making them lose good business. This encounter left the three of us very shaken and upset, as it wasn’t just the fact that we were wrongfully turned away, but it was done in a disrespectful manner with little concern from the staff of how we felt and the fact that they made one of us cry.
