A cute homey welcoming cafe. Host server were very friendly (a common trait in Cape Breton Island! . Wife had a fresh, crisp salad I scarfed a juicy smashed cheeseburger. Probably a go-to alternative to the touristy Louisbourg Fortress eateries.
Great food, friendly fabulous service ! The carrot cake was a perfect end to a very tasty meal. (Pan seared halibut and vegetable stir fry)
Stumbled upon this cute café while riding through the area. The owner greeted us and seated us. Started with the seafood chowder, full of large delicious chunks of lobster, shrimp, mussels, haddock, and scallops. The soup was amazing and perfectly flavored. Saltiness was perfection. To top it off, a delicious homemade biscuit to dunk in the soup. The fish tacos are lightly battered haddock, not at all greasy, laying on a bed of delicious citrus slaw. Full of flavor and delicious. I highly recommend them. The chicken burger, a lightly breaded chicken cutlet that came out nice and crispy with a wonderful crunch to match the pickle, fresh lettuce, and the Cajun mayo. Yum! To finish off our meal we shared a slice of homemade carrot cake! Slice of heaven with delicious cream cheese frosting. The cake was moist and perfectly dense. You will crave this cake. All in all a great meal, a cozy little family run cafe that is clean with wonderfully attentive staff, great service, and truly delicious food! What a treat!
What a cute restaurant! Beautifully decorated and friendly staff. Excellent seafood chowder-big chunks of tender fish, lobster, mussels and clam. Best one we had on our trip to Nova Scotia. Salads were delicious too with big biscuits on the side. We took desserts to go-awesome chocolate and carrot cakes. Don't pass up this this cute restaurant!!!
