They should probably signpost more although they were pretty full. Anyway, we ate here under a beautiful orange tree grove that would offer much welcome shade and cool in the Kephalonia summer heat. We were greeted by the delightful Jane who was helping out and who quickly organised us a table. We were attended by both her and Susan (owner). They are lovely people and gave us advice on the menu as one of our children is a coeliac. Susan is Swiss and speaks excellent English, German and likely French. For starters we had the Aubergines Imam and Fava Hummus which were both very tasty. They also brought a bread basket and olive oil which were both top class For main course there was Chicken Souvlaki, chicken fillet, Beef Stifado and rabbit with a tomato sauce. Everything was a very tasty although there really was not much rabbit meat after stripping the bone. For dessert, there was Baklava (perfection), Chocolate Brownie (very rich and sweet but hey, kids want what they want), a homemade peach frozen yoghurt dessert which was fantastic and then the pièce de résistance the orange cake (just sublime). We went to pay and had a very engaging conversation with Susan, Demitrato (her husband) and his brother. My son had suffered mosquito bites over the holiday and had really swelled up and Susan brought her homemade remedy out to relieve him. Thank you very much for a great evening. Amazing venue, service and food. When on Kephalonia again, we will certainly return.
Went here for a meal twice. First time was good, second time was less so. They got our order wrong and gave my wife a meat moussaka not the veg one she asked for, and got some cheesy brocoli dish that had too much brocoli instead. I have a feeling they charged us for the moussaka not the veg replacement. They are the only cash only restaurant we visited this week, and we were only reminded of this when we went to pay and I didn't have enough cash so had a farcical situation of being driven to an ATM (that didn't recognise my card) and then setting up a bank payment instead. Honestly wish I hadn't bothered eating here. The cash only thing killed it. They are nice people but it was a disappointing evening as this meal seemed to be more expensive than the ones we had had at other restaurants (that did accept cards)
The owners are perfect hosts. We had a wonderful time at this pension, Susan and her husband really try to make you feel welcomed. The rooms and balconies are spacious, there is no noise from the tavern as they face the other side of the building. Big plus with the tavern downstairs, where we had a really good breakfast, but also ate a few times for dinner. Walking distance to Lourdata beach, but also easy to reach other beaches by car Rooms: 5
